Established by Arnold and Kit Sargeant, Casita Chamisa was the first Bed and Breakfast in the Albuquerque area in 1984 and is currently one of Pamela Lanier’ s top choices.

Casita Chamisa , Bed and Breakfast extraordinaire, rests on a major archaeological site that was excavated by owner Arnold Sargeant’s late wife, archaeologist Kit Sargeant. The project was sponsored by the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology at the University of New Mexico. Arnold is delighted to share a video tape explaining the site to interested visitors and to recount what is known of the "ancient ones" who lived here so long ago.

Arnold will help you plan your vacation or free time with visits to the nearby Indian pueblos for fiestas, to mountain and desert areas of breath-taking beauty close to Albuquerque and around New Mexico, archeological sites, and ski areas. Rise early to jog along the tree shaded streets and acequias (irrigation ditches) of the North Valley, or stroll the paths by the river and through the Bosque at the Nature Center ten minutes away. Horseback rides can be arranged from a nearby stable. Eat at the excellent Mexican and Continental restaurants located in the Valley, often in delightful old Spanish houses.

Casita Chamisa is a 15-minute drive from the intriguing shops and galleries of Old Town Plaza, the Albuquerque Museum, the Indian Cultural Center, as well as the business center. It is a 20-minute drive from the airport and an hour away from Santa Fe.

Deposit and cancellation policy

Credit card number or deposit secures reservation. Personal checks are accepted. If notified of cancellation 10 days prior to arrival, or if another party requests a reservation for those dates, deposit will be refunded. Confirmation letter will be mailed.
